Abstract

An airflow in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) circular ducts is a common occurrence in many applications. However, the accurate prediction of the Nusselt number and friction factor for this type of duct is challenging due to the complex nature of the flow. This paper presents a new set of correlations for the Nusselt number and friction factor for airflow in PVC circular ducts. The new correlations are expected to be useful for the design and analysis of PVC circular ducts. They can also be used to improve the accuracy of numerical simulations of airflow in PVC ducts.
