Abstract

Municipal solid waste (MSW) usually comes from household, institution, commercial source, and industry. Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is included in the biomass category. For the waste management in Malaysia, incinerator plant are one of the technology that can be applied for waste management in Malaysia other than landfilling. This technology could help reduce the capacity used in landfilling, where it will decrease the number of waste transport to the landfilling and odor pollution in the landfilling. Malaysia has facing municipal solid waste management at a household sector, which to high percentage to the other sector. Thus, a new model of mini incinerator is essential in order to reduce the waste products from the household. For the first stage, this study is focused on designed and fabricated the mini incinerator. This mini incinerator has been tested by using recycled paper to verify the pyrolysis thermal conversion for producing syngas. It is confirmed that the syngas can be produced by using this mini incinerator. The produced gas can be able to substitute into biofuel and generate the electricity
